The Leica M body cap, reference 14397, is a simple piece that protects the mount of your camera body when no lens is fitted.
On a Leica M, the bayonet mount and the inside of the body remain exposed as soon as the lens is removed. Dust, particles and knocks to the shutter curtain or the sensor happen quickly, especially when changing lenses outdoors or in a dusty environment. This cap closes the mount and limits these risks between shots.
It fits every body in the Leica M range. It is an accessory to slip into your bag or keep on you at all times, particularly useful for street photography, travel or reportage, where you often alternate between several focal lengths.
