The Leica Elpro-S 180 mm close-up lens is an optical converter precisely calculated for the Leica APO-Elmar-S 180 mm f/3.5 lens. It reduces the minimum focusing distance of the 180 mm from 1.5 m to 1.1 m and increases the lens's maximum reproduction ratio from 1:7 to 1:4.5. Unlike most apochromatic supplementary lenses, the Leica Elpro-S 180 is dedicated to one specific lens. Its three-element design avoids lateral chromatic aberration and ensures there is no degradation of the lens's excellent original image quality. This close-up lens allows very close detail shots while providing sufficient distance from the position of any light sources.
