UV, water- and oil-repellent, antistatic
Reduce the effects of atmospheric haze and achieve crisp, high-contrast images in all conditions with this water-repellent UV filter, available from 46 mm to 105 mm in diameter for your compact, hybrid or digital SLR camera. By filtering the short wavelengths of ultraviolet light, the SIGMA water-repellent UV filter helps ensure faithful blues, particularly useful for landscape photography at altitude, where UV rays are strongest. Its water-repellent coating also repels liquids and grease, effectively protecting your front lens element and ensuring optimal image quality.
High-quality filters compatible with all SIGMA lenses
SIGMA has designed its entire filter range to be compatible with every lens in the range. SIGMA has also ensured that this protective filter delivers very uniform light transmission across the entire image field, from the centre to the corners. All lenses in SIGMA's new lines are tested on an exclusive MTF (modulation transfer function) bench (A1) using a 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensor, and SIGMA filters are manufactured to the same quality standards.

Water-repellent glass coating (WR)
The WR water-repellent coating limits reflection in the visible spectrum to 0.24%, thereby minimising flare and ghosting. Its water- and oil-repellent properties are equally remarkable: water does not adhere, and fingerprints wipe off easily. This coating also has a lubricating quality that reduces the risk of scratches tenfold compared with the conventional SIGMA Super Multi Layer coating. Its antistatic function prevents dust or small particles from being attracted and makes them easier to remove.
