The SIGMA fp and its 3 key points
By challenging manufacturers' preconceptions about camera hierarchies and categories, SIGMA asks what a camera is really worth. What is essential for photographers? How can we make a camera that not only meets a need, but makes your life more enjoyable and pleasurable? It is by asking these questions that SIGMA brought the SIGMA fp to life. Flexible and endlessly adaptable, a user-oriented camera for people who know what they want to photograph and what they want to create. Making such a camera a reality rests on three key concepts that represent the identity of the SIGMA fp series.

Pocket-sized Full Frame
Small in size, large in quality. Perfect for carrying everywhere.
The SIGMA fp: The smallest and lightest* full-frame hybrid camera in the world, which you can take anywhere, at any time.

Modular
From retro lenses to modern tools, right through to professional filmmaking. Creating your own style has never been easier.
Customise your fp as you wish, so that it matches what you want to do with it.

Fluid

The new fp L joins the fp family
The fp, the series' conceptual model, is joined by the fp L, which makes full use of high resolution, giving a boost to the world's smallest and lightest "Pocket-sized Full Frame" range. A large sensor for great moments.

Main features of the fp L
[4 new features available on the fp L]
61 million pixels. The highest resolution presented by SIGMA
We drew on our expertise in image processing technology on Foveon sensors. Thanks to its very high resolution, the SIGMA fp L is capable of freeing your imagination, and has a low-pass filter that contributes to optical performance.

The SIGMA fp L features a Bayer sensor with approximately 61 million effective pixels, more than any previous SIGMA camera. Besides images with fine detail, the fp L is capable of producing high-definition, colour-rich images, thanks to its ultra-high pixel count and SIGMA's experience in developing cameras with Foveon sensors, which are renowned both for their exceptional resolving power and for the nuanced colour gradations resulting from the unique nature of the X3 sensor. Furthermore, because the Foveon sensor is known for image quality that is in principle free of colour artefacts, its reputation also led to the decision to equip the fp L with a low-pass filter to reduce moiré to minimal levels. Using a low-pass filter was a logical choice for a camera with a high megapixel count such as the SIGMA fp L.

Cropping
Greater resolution. Greater freedom. Every photo is the photo of your dreams.
A high pixel count means images can withstand extreme zooms or crops. This is one of the aspects of a very high pixel-count camera that led SIGMA to equip the fp L with a crop zoom function that works in both STILL and CINE modes. Thanks to its many megapixels (approximately 61 million effective pixels), the fp L can record in full HD quality, even at its maximum 5x zoom, simply by cropping, without digital processing and without any loss of image quality. For more intuitive use, you can pinch to zoom on the LCD touchscreen.

Hybrid autofocus
Never miss your moment.
In addition to high-precision contrast-detection autofocus, the SIGMA fp L features fast image-plane phase-detection autofocus. This hybrid AF gives users smooth, highly precise, fast autofocus that excels at tracking a moving subject, whether for photos or videos.
Unlimited power supply
Long hours of uninterrupted power via USB-C cable.
The SIGMA fp L can be charged via USB cable while in use. You can shoot photos without interruption while charging the camera with a power bank, even outdoors or when you have no access to a power socket. When using it as a webcam, simply connect the fp L to a PC via USB and it works as an audio and video input device while being powered by the PC. This means you can use it for hours without worrying about the battery running down.
Essential functions and features for different uses
What is the situation? Who is using it? The SIGMA fp L is flexible and adaptable to meet all of a photographer's needs. Here is what makes it so versatile.
