Taking advantage of the inherent benefits of lenses designed for mirrorless systems, the size and weight of the lens are greatly reduced, while ensuring a high degree of uniformity of its very high resolving power from the centre of the image to the corners, regardless of focal length. In addition, its compatibility with the latest mirrorless cameras and the various shooting assistance features meet the needs of professional and advanced amateur photographers.
Following the 14–24mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, the fast standard zoom 24–70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art is the flagship of SIGMA's new generation of Art zooms.

1. The highest optical performance in its category
The iconic SIGMA F2.8 Art zoom series is designed above all to deliver the highest level of optical performance.
No fewer than eight low-dispersion special glass elements – six of "FLD" special glass and two of SLD glass – work brilliantly together in the sumptuous optical formula designed for mirrorless cameras with short flange focal distances. The presence of three aspherical lenses effectively corrects axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma aberration, which are difficult to correct in post-processing, optimising resolution and ensuring a high degree of uniformity of high optical performance from the centre to the edges of the image, regardless of the focal length used.
The "Super Multi Layer" coating is combined with a new NPC (Nano Porous Coating)* treatment.
The lens has been designed to be as little affected as possible by strong incident light such as backlighting.
The specific optical formula designed for mirrorless cameras contributes to reducing the weight and size of the lens.

2. Compatible with the latest full-frame mirrorless cameras
The SIGMA 24–70mm F2.8 DG DN, compatible with all full-frame mirrorless cameras equipped with L-mount and Sony E-mount, delivers the highest level of performance in all circumstances and suits both professional photographers and advanced amateurs.
The AFL button functions, for example, can be assigned from the camera body, facilitating operation during shooting. The use of a stepping motor, combined with a latest-generation algorithm, provides a perfect balance between speed and smoothness during AF focusing, for relaxed shooting.
The lens is also compatible with "Eye AF" eye tracking, ensuring in particular high-precision focusing in portrait photography.
3. Suited to a wide range of uses and photographic circumstances
The minimum focusing distance is 18cm at the wide-angle position. This allows you to approach the subject closer than the end of the lens hood. The magnification ratio is 1:2.9 at wide angle and 1:4.5 at telephoto, allowing a very wide variety of framings in close-up photography.

In addition, the dust- and splash-resistant construction allows shooting in difficult conditions, and the zoom ring lock mechanism prevents unwanted extension of the barrel. It also features the usual AF/MF switch found on many SIGMA lenses.
A zoom suited to a very wide variety of circumstances and subjects, with very comfortable handling of the zoom and focus rings.
