UV, water-repellent and antistatic
Limit the effects of atmospheric haze and achieve high-contrast images in all conditions with this water-repellent UV filter, available from 46mm to 105mm in diameter for your compact, hybrid or digital SLR camera. By filtering the short ultraviolet wavelengths, the SIGMA water-repellent UV filter ensures faithful blues at all times, which is particularly useful for landscape photography at altitude, where UV rays are most intense. Its water-repellent coating also repels liquids and grease, effectively protecting your front lens element and ensuring optimal image quality.
High-quality filters compatible with all SIGMA lenses
SIGMA has designed its entire range of SIGMA filters to be compatible with all lenses in the range. SIGMA has also ensured that this protective filter provides very uniform light transmission across the entire image field, from the centre to the corners. All lenses in the new SIGMA lines are tested on an exclusive (A1) MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement bench using a 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensor, and SIGMA filters are manufactured to meet the same quality standards.

Water-repellent glass coating (WR)
The WR water-repellent coating limits reflection of the visible spectrum to 0.24%, thereby minimising flare and ghosting. Its water and oil repellency is also remarkable: water does not adhere, and fingerprints are easily removed. This coating also has a lubricating property that reduces the risk of scratches tenfold compared with the classic SIGMA Super Multi Layer coating. Its antistatic function prevents dust or small particles from being attracted and makes them easier to remove.
