The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS | Sports is the world’s first fixed 200 mm lens with an F2 aperture for full-frame hybrid cameras. Its wide bokeh, compression effect and incredible precision, delivered by exceptional optical performance, unleash the expressive power of creators and enable unique results, both in photography and video.
This lens is the ultimate choice for portrait photography and is also ideal for indoor sports photography with fast subjects and low light. The HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) linear motor is fast and precise, and the 6.5 stops2 of image stabilisation gained improve shooting comfort. Excellent resolution even at full aperture
By adopting an optical design with 19 elements in 14 groups, including 2 FLD lenses and 2 SLD lenses, axial and lateral chromatic aberrations that are easily noticed on telephoto lenses are corrected, delivering exceptional optical quality.
Even at full aperture, it delivers finely detailed images and maintains a high level of resolution and contrast from the centre to the edges of the frame.
Impressive portraits thanks to exceptional bokeh
With very wide bokeh made possible by the F2 aperture, which doubles the amount of light compared with an F2.8 lens, and the compression effect of the 200 mm focal length, the lens provides beautiful background blur that makes your subject stand out in a unique way. Combined with incredible optical performance, this enables the creation of exclusive portraits.
Ideal for indoor sports photography
The F2 aperture allows higher shutter speeds even in low light, making the lens an ideal tool for indoor sports photography. The wide bokeh highlights athletes’ movements and expressions, creating dynamic images. With the ultra-fast focusing enabled by the HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor and optical stabilisation, the decisive moment is captured even with moving subjects.
Designed to minimise flare and ghosting
Using advanced simulation techniques, flare and ghosting have been greatly eliminated, ensuring detailed, contrasty results in all situations. In addition, Sigma Nano Porous and Super Multi-Layer treatments have been applied to further suppress flare and ghosting.
Ultra-fast autofocus and stabilisation that maximise optical performance
HLA autofocus motor
An HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor has been incorporated, enabling ultra-fast focusing. It combines improved focusing speed with incredible precision.
Powerful optical stabilisation thanks to the OS2 algorithm
The OS2 algorithm provides exceptional stabilisation of 6.5 stops1. The lens has two OS modes: Mode 1, for most shooting situations, and Mode 2, which is ideal for panning photography. In Mode 2, Sigma’s intelligent stabilisation, a specially developed algorithm, adapts to camera movements, whether vertical or diagonal. This ensures that the moving subject is properly stabilised without losing the panning effect.

Build quality and durability of Sigma’s Sports line
Insulating paint for consistent performance
The exterior of the lens is coated with an insulating paint that suppresses the absorption of solar heat. This prevents the lens from overheating, even during long shoots in direct sunlight.
Resistance to outdoor conditions of the Sports line
The mount, focus ring, zoom ring and switches are protected against dust and splashes by a resistant structure. In addition, the front element is oil-repellent, making it easier to clean when water droplets or dust settle on it.

New tripod collar
A new tripod collar has been designed to double as a carrying handle, with a longer base and a greater gap between it and the lens. The tripod collar incorporates a click mechanism every 90° for safe, precise rotation. The plate is compatible with the Arca-Swiss standard.
