Engraving on the top plate, matching lens cap or braided strap bearing the logo of both brands: the details referring to F1® and Leica integrated into the materials give this joint special edition a unique distinction.
F1® form factor
The Leica Q3 43 Formula 1® Edition uses materials emblematic of motorsport on the most heavily used areas. Its black micro-suede covering offers a secure grip, inspired by the grip of racing steering wheels. Carbon elements, specially made in Germany, cover the grip, thumb rest and soft shutter release. The carbon fibres are precisely shaped, while their complex finish elegantly evokes the world of motor racing.
A colour in the service of concentration
On racing car steering wheels, colours mark certain controls so the driver can locate them without taking their eyes off the track. Attention stays focused on the race. This special edition follows the same principle with touches of Formula 1® red at strategic points: on the soft shutter release and on the function button to the right of the thumb rest. The eye never leaves the scene.
The Leica "Formula 1®" Look
A visual effect was specially created for this edition to extend the motorsport experience into the images. With its high contrast and saturated colours, the exclusive Leica "Formula 1®" Look recreates the atmosphere of the circuit in every photo. The Leica FOTOS app lets you activate this Leica Look directly on the camera. Photos are saved in JPEG format and can then be transferred to your smartphone within seconds via the app and shared.
