An optical formula delivering unmatched performance at F1.4
To combine exceptional wide-aperture performance with a maximum aperture of F1.4 in a medium telephoto focal length, this lens incorporates 17 elements in 12 groups, an unusually high number of elements for a prime lens. Including three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements and one aspherical element, the optical system minimises axial chromatic aberration to deliver extremely high resolution with remarkable uniformity. The focus zone is extremely sharp, while the out-of-focus zone offers beautiful bokeh with very natural colours, making this lens an ideal choice for portraits. The optical system also minimises sagittal coma flare, making this lens excellent for photographing the starry sky.

Exceptional peripheral brightness
The most effective way to let in the maximum amount of light is to maximise the diameter of the front element. With its large 105mm filter diameter, the SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art delivers significantly more peripheral light than other lenses in its category. Minimising vignetting while providing beautiful bokeh, this lens is ideal for portraits.
Intuitive ergonomics for easy use
Instead of conventional ABS thermoplastic, the exclusive lens hood is made of PRFC (carbon fibre reinforced polymer), a lightweight and robust material used in aerospace and many other applications. The detachable tripod collar is compatible with the Arca-Swiss quick-release standard, and its exclusive protective strap makes the lens easier to carry and to use for handheld photography.
